Daniel Hankinson became Head Coach of Keidokwai Judo Club post COVID, reviving it after the pressures of the pandemic left the club on the brink of closure. Dan was the 2024 British Judo Coach of the Year winner and was selected by British Judo for a coaching development program with Neil Adams MBE (two-time Olympic Silver medalist and former World & European Champion).
He is an IJF Alumni (International Judo Federation); holding the Undergraduate Certificate as Judo Instructor, as well as a British Judo Level 3 Award. Dan delivers Judo full time, working in schools with Judo Education, and coaches roughly two thousand children each year.
His other accolades include winning the Active Blackpool Coach of the Year Award 2025 and earning a Highly Commended Coach of the Year certificate at the 2024 Fylde Active Community Awards.

Gary is a 4th Dan black belt, Level 2 BJA Coach, and has been an integral part of Keidokwai Judo Club for over 30 years.

Beyond Judo, Gary has competed in Ultra Marathon races and CrossFit competitions. His knowledge of mental resilience and physical fitness gives Keidokwai an edge in developing players both physically and mentally to endure any challenges Judo (or life) throws at them.
